P.S. there's a blazer with elbow patches that goes with this outfit.
Today Andrew is in Colorado to speak at an archaeology conference. It's by no means his first time presenting, but I'm super proud just the same. I made him pose for this photo this morning at 6:45 before I drove him to the airport. He rocks the professorly look. I've always had a thing for nerdy guys, and now I'm married to a man who is, as I type, is presenting his research on "Turtle Shell Rattles in the Mississippian Period." I love that he's my scholarly nerd, and I can't wait to see what archaeological adventures his path takes us on.

Our Tiny Apartment

Our apartment is teeny tiny. But, it's quiet and the neighbors are friendly. We are walking/biking distance from a lovely green-way walking trail that cuts through the woods. The trees are what drew us to this area of town. It feels secluded though we're minutes from down town.

My engagement owls. Andrew gave me these when he proposed to me. We spotted them together previously when we were ring shopping in an antique store.

I think we deserve an award for our use of space in this apartment. The living room is filled with our (homemade) farm dining table, vintage bright yellow sofa, gigantic square coffee table, about a quarter of the chairs we bought and painted for the wedding, our salvaged desk, and one of my favorite pieces: a two piece shelf that we found at the flea market.

A woman who sells these at the flea market gave me this set as a wedding gift.

I found the first piece on a Friday. A beat up, semi warped/full of character, kitchen piece. It has many cubbies and drawers and hooks... and a flour sifter. Too short to use on it's own, I originally passed it up. I couldn't get it out of my head. So, I sent Andrew back early the next morning. Later that Saturday, I happened upon a kelly green pie safe, sans doors and side screens. The two pieces stack perfectly.

Matches from the wedding.

I made this portrait of us for Andrew back when we were dating, and the bunnies were our cake topper.

One day, we will be bee keepers.

I think this framed picture of a brain (from a 1970's biology book) tells the world that I think smart is sexy.

A few of our cook books... Andrew stole some of the best ones to use at work.

My grandmother gave me this owl many years ago... I've just been collecting them since.

We like type face, if you haven't noticed. This one is our wedding date.

The yellow sofa made a debut at our wedding, along with well, most of our furniture.

I live in Nashville, TN with the love of my life. Andrew. We got married nearly seven months ago, in September, on his grandparent's farm. I want a place to document our life and adventures together and perhaps make some new connections along the way. We love to travel, cook healthy, DIY, craft, eat, be outdoors, and shop all things vintage. He works at Whole Foods and is studying Archaeology. I work at Anthropologie and have a degree in English and degree in Merchandising and Interiors. I like to think we're still at the beginning of everything.
