Sea Creatures

It's about that time of year again. In a couple of weeks Andrew and I will join in family for their annual trip to the beach. Last year, to occupy me, Andrew took us to the Aquarium on Dolphin Island...

It was amazing, and a little creepy to see up close the animals with which we were sharing the water. Though I saw (and got stung by) several jelly fish, I didn't appreciate them until I could see them without fear. They look like a psychedelic work of art.

Another one of my favorites was the tiny octopus. Did you know that octopuses can climb?

Did you know that the plural of octopus has been a topic of debate? It is in fact, according to Webster, correct to say, "octopuses," "octopi," OR "octopodes."
